Completely rebuilt for SAAB in late 2002 by Rosenfors Bruk AB at a cost of 1.0 mm Swedish kronas (US$140m). It has been out of service for over two years. SAAB like most aerospace major OEM's is reducing capacity for in-house sheet metal detail parts, relying on outsourcing.
In difference to standard Hufford A10's, this machine now has Siemens PLC controls type Simatic S7-300 in separate UL enclosure.
The press operating control panel is on a sliding mount with outputs for cylinder(s) pressure, toggle type controllers, key lockouts, mode selectors, etc..
The press control cabinet, hydraulic tank with circulating pump & heat exchanger, are palletized. Powered by an ABB 37/42 KW (50 or 56 HP) ...either 50/60 hz adaptable... 380V/420V 1480/1780 rpm motor (dependent on Hz connection) close coupled to a single Bosch 3000 psi pump. No cyclic transformer for power is required.
Please refer to the attached sketch showing floor plan overview.
Considering all this, the press has approximately 26 tons plus force. (compared to 17.5 tons at 2000 psi is normal A-10 tonnage). The movements, with higher flow rate, should be faster as well.
All interconnecting piping / hoses are frame racked. The are safety interlocks installed on press frame.
This is not an extended (long) arm machine. Arm extensions can be easily fabricated for longer part length capability.
One set of 4" jaw holders, a part joggler, die posts (4 in all), jaw set transporters, some electrical spares, circuit data, schematics and manuals are included.
The detailed manuals we have are in Swedish / German.
Can be shipped in one (1) 20' container.
