Millennium Fluid Cell Press
Fluid Forming Systems LLC takes a proven "clam shell" baseline design and brings it into the next century with their Millennium Fluid Cell Press. The proven "clam shell" design originally built in the 1960's with over 3 million production cycles to date, and is still in production with no incidents of fatigue. All "clam shell" and pressure chamber components are of forged alloy steel, machined to exact tolerances. Fluid Forming Systems has employed finite element analysis methods in the design of the load bearing components along with utilizing modern hydraulics and controls. Simplifying installation and maintenance along with economic operation and minimum downtime were also paramount in their design standards.

Millennium press systems have a 40" diameter table and can operate at forming pressures of up to 10,000 psi. The thin wall fluid cell allows for deeper draw and undercut part forming, which is difficult or impossible to achieve on a rubber pad press. The circular diaphragm, made of high performance polyurethane, eliminates the complex corner stretch phenomena associated with rectangular bed fluid cells. Proven consistent 60,000 cycles per fluid cell, with replacement fluid cells lasting in excess of 100,000 cycles. The fluid cell or diaphragm system is designed for quick removal and replacement. Cell change can be performed in less than one hour by experienced personnel.
LSH Millennium press system standard press table depth at 10" and resultant capability is comparable to current large format fluid cell press systems. Deeper depth of draw can be accommodated.
The investment level for the Millennium press system allows a small to medium size company entry into modern high pressure sheet metal forming. Large companies currently using fluid cell press technology can also benefit and realize new efficiencies with this press system. The press requires no pit, foundation or assembly upon arrival at your facility, the machine can fully operable within eight (8) hours of unloading.
The Millennium press system forming envelope handles sheet metal detail part sizes which account for 85% of a typical production part volume. A proven fully automated multi-table transfer system with load/unload stations can be integrated to accommodate higher production requirements.
Rectangular table fluid cell press systems, with their high maintenance and spare parts costs, are better suited and more efficiently used when dedicated to producing longer or larger parts.
